Leave Palma Cathedral before the city traffic builds and follow the coast towards the open limestone platform of Cap Blanc Lighthouse. The scenery becomes progressively emptier, and the lighthouse is the first proper pause of the trip. From here, the road runs east to Cala Pi, a narrow turquoise inlet enclosed by high walls. The beach requires a staircase descent, while the nearby Torre de Cala Pi provides a quicker panoramic stop. Continue to the western access at Ses Covetes for Es Trenc. This is the day’s principal beach stop, so the route leaves enough time for a long swim or lunch. Parking fills quickly in peak season. The optional walk to Es Carbó starts from Colònia de Sant Jordi and should only be attempted if the group is willing to trade riding time for a longer coastal walk. The final kilometres pass Ses Salines and the salt-flat landscape before reaching Santanyí. The overnight town works better than a resort base: it places the motorcycle close to the second day’s coves, while offering a compact old centre and several bookable restaurants.

Skip-the-line visit to Santanyí
A direct-entry ticket for La Seu Cathedral, best used before starting the motorcycle loop or on the morning after the return to Palma.
Begin early with the shared access point for Caló des Moro and Cala s’Almunia. Neither cove is a ride-up beach: park legally, secure the riding kit and continue on foot. Caló des Moro is extremely small and can become congested; the visit works best as an early scenic stop rather than a guaranteed full beach day. The next motorcycle stop is Cala Llombards, followed by the limestone arch of Es Pontàs. The route then reaches the deep natural harbour of Cala Figuera, one of the island’s strongest non-beach attractions. Because the road system around these coves uses short inland connectors, a limited amount of local backtracking is unavoidable. After Cala Santanyí, ride to the parking area serving Mondragó Natural Park. Leave the motorcycle once and explore both Sa Font de n’Alis and S’Amarador on foot via the coastal path. This is the best place for the longest stop of the day. The final link through Portopetro leads inland for the return to Palma. The last 63 kilometres are the only sustained transfer of the loop.
