Intro

Today’s route is a Tunisia deep-dive that starts with Mediterranean light around Tunis, climbs into the cork-oak hills of the northwest, then points south across the steppe towards the palm-fringed oases of Tozeur and the dune lines near Douz. From there, the mood shifts to island time in Djerba before a relaxed run up the coast via Gabès and Sousse, closing the loop back in the capital. The legs are built around real waypoints (POIs used as route anchors), so you can track each hop precisely — and open every leg in Google Maps with one tap. Expect fast A-roads where you need to reposition, and slower scenic stretches where Tunisia feels most rewarding: Roman sites, medina alleys, and desert edge panoramas.

Main routing anchor: Tunis → Tabarka ≈ 177 km (road distance); + scenic detour to keep the leg “ride-worthy”.
