Day 3 · Geilo → Oslo (via Gol, Fagernes & Hønefoss)
Final leg of the Oslo Ring based on the Day 3 GPX track: from Geilo you follow the Hallingdal valley down to Gol, cut across to the Valdres region around Fagernes, then run south-east on the E16 through forested valleys to Hønefoss before the final motorway stretch back into Oslo.
-
Geilo → Gol (Rv7 Hallingdal) · ≈50 km
Roll out from Geilo and follow Rv7 down the Hallingdal valley towards Gol. Easy valley riding, fuel and coffee options in Gol before the route turns north-east. -
Gol → Fagernes (Valdres access) · ≈50 km
From Gol you climb out of Hallingdal and transition into the Valdres region, aiming for Fagernes. The GPX keeps you on flowing main roads with a mix of forest and lake views. -
Fagernes → Hønefoss (E16 Valdres valley) · ≈145 km
Follow the E16 south-east from Fagernes through classic Valdres scenery, then continue down long, sweeping valley sections towards Hønefoss. This is the longest continuous leg of the day according to the GPX. -
Hønefoss → Oslo (final approach) · ≈60 km
From Hønefoss you stay on fast main roads towards Oslo, re-entering the capital on the western side and closing the 800 km ring near the downtown/harbour area.
Distances (~50 + ~50 + ~145 + ~60 km) are calculated directly from the Day 3 GPX track (total ≈305 km). Expect small variations depending on exact fuel, photo and hotel detours into each town.
