Oslo 800 km Ring · Route Overview
A fully paved 800 km ring starting and ending in Oslo, unfolding through Drammen, Kongsberg, Rjukan and the high mountain roads of Haukeli. The loop blends industrial heritage, deep valleys, open plateaux and crystal-clear lakes across three balanced riding days. With curated POIs, scenic detours and comfortable daily distances, this itinerary delivers a clean, photography-rich snapshot of southern Norway’s landscapes—ideal for riders wanting a well-paced multi-day adventure.
Fjord Edge, High Plateau & Waterfall Valley Ride
Day 2 shifts from mountain edges into Hardanger’s fjord scenery. From the Haukeli highlands, the road drops toward Odda and its dramatic glacier-fed lakes, then follows a chain of iconic waterfalls toward Eidfjord. The final section climbs back into open high ground before rolling into Geilo, a classic mountain hub with cafés, hotels, and wide-valley views.
- Haukeli — morning rollout into high plateau surroundings, crisp air and wide views.
- Odda — reach fjord depth and glacier-blue lakes; photogenic drops into the valley. Nearby stop: Sandvinvatnet .
- Twin waterfalls: Låtefossen and Espelandsfossen — iconic riding sequence in the southern Hardanger region.
- Eidfjord — calm fjord edge; gateway to Vøringsfossen Skywalk .
- High plateau stop: Sysendammen Viewpoint — a panoramic overlook before climbing toward the Hemsedal–Geilo region.
