Big-Displacement Adventure Bikes 2025–2026
Choosing a big-displacement adventure bike is less about chasing the highest horsepower figure and more about matching the bike’s character to the way you actually travel. This line-up brings together eleven machines that will headline the 2025–2026 seasons, from flagship European globetrotters to new-wave Chinese contenders. Some are built to cross continents two-up with full luggage, others to attack rocky trails, and a few are tuned for fast tarmac stages with sports-bike levels of performance and comfort. The cards below give you a quick visual feel for each model – engine layout, focus and personality – while the comparison table at the end lets you see, side by side, which package best fits your style: solo overlander, tech-driven commuter, value-minded tourer or performance-obsessed weekender.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure
The new R 1300 GS Adventure takes BMW’s big-tank ethos to the next level, with a lighter chassis, huge touring range and a very complete electronics package. It is built to soak up thousands of kilometres on mixed terrain with calm, planted behaviour and serious luggage capacity straight out of the box.
BMW F 900 GS Adventure
The F 900 GS Adventure stretches the middleweight platform into genuine travel territory, with a bigger tank, protection and luggage options. Lighter than the boxer but still very capable on unpaved roads, it suits riders who want a more manageable package for mixed touring and gravel without giving up comfort or electronics.
CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports
The latest Africa Twin Adventure Sports leans even more towards long-haul comfort, with a 19-inch front wheel, electronic suspension and serious wind protection. DCT remains a unique selling point for relaxed touring, while the chassis still copes well with gravel and light off-road sections.
Ducati Multistrada V4 S
The Multistrada V4 S is still the performance benchmark in this segment. A very strong V4, radar-based rider aids and versatile riding modes make it ideal for fast road touring, spirited solo rides and even occasional track-days, with gravel capability if you keep to tamer trails and tyre choices.
KTM 1390 Super Adventure R
KTM’s next-gen Super Adventure R pushes the ready-to-race concept with an even stronger V-twin, updated bodywork and serious suspension travel. It is clearly aimed at aggressive riders who spend more time standing on the pegs than cruising, but still want full electronics and road legality for long expeditions.
Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro
The Tiger 1200 Rally Pro mixes a smooth three-cylinder character with genuine off-road geometry and long-travel suspension. It targets riders who like a refined feel and cruise-control comfort, but still want to explore trails and broken tarmac with a big 21-inch front wheel.
Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250
The Pan America 1250 is Harley-Davidson's take on the big adventure tourer, with a torquey Revolution Max V-twin, long-travel suspension and a capable chassis on both tarmac and light off-road. It mixes the brand's character and sound with a thoroughly modern electronics package aimed at long-distance travel.
CFMOTO 1000MT-X
The 1000MT-X is CFMOTO’s flagship adventure bike, built around a torquey parallel twin with long-travel KYB suspension and Bosch rider aids. It aims to offer big-bike performance and equipment at a more accessible price point, with 21/18 wheels and a strong focus on mixed road and light off-road touring.
Moto Morini X-Cape 1200
The X-Cape 1200 is Moto Morini’s maxi-adventure, combining Italian styling with a strong V-twin and serious touring intent. It targets riders who like characterful engines and a less mainstream badge, with proper wind protection and luggage options for long European trips on mixed roads.
QJMotor SRT 800 SX
The SRT 800 SX is a mid-size touring adventure from QJMotor, usually supplied with aluminium cases and comfort-oriented ergonomics. It is more about covering distance at sensible speeds than chasing lap times, and fits riders looking for a budget-friendly platform to explore tarmac and easy gravel.
ZXMoto 820 ADV
The 820 ADV is the adventure spin-off of ZXMoto’s new three-cylinder platform, showcased at EICMA with advanced electronics, semi-active suspension and a strong touring focus. It is clearly aimed at tech-savvy riders who want maximum gadgetry and performance at a likely competitive Chinese price point.
